FAQ

About the Artwork

What inspires your portraits?
My work celebrates the dignity, beauty, and resilience of everyday people. Drawing from my Afro-Latina heritage, travels, and the communities that have shaped me, I create portraits that preserve stories, culture, and human connection.

Who are the people in your paintings?
Some are people I've met while traveling, while others are inspired by memories, family, or imagined narratives rooted in real experiences. Every portrait is intended to feel both personal and universal.

What materials do you use?
I work primarily in oil paint, often incorporating charcoal, graphite, gold leaf, and layered textures to create depth and richness.

Will this painting ever be reproduced?
Some paintings may become limited edition prints, while others will remain exclusively available as originals. Any editions will be clearly noted.

The Experience

Why collect your work?
I believe portraits can preserve more than a likeness—they preserve culture, memory, and the stories that shape us. My hope is that each painting becomes an heirloom that carries meaning for generations.

What do you hope collectors feel when they live with your work?
I hope the work invites curiosity, conversation, and reflection. Whether it reminds someone of their own heritage, travels, or loved ones, I want each painting to become part of the life and story of the home it enters.

How do I know which piece is right for my space?
If you're deciding between works, I'm happy to help. Share a photo of your space, and I can recommend pieces based on scale, color, and the feeling you'd like the room to evoke.
